The Ailie Donald Scholarship at the University of Edinburgh is now accepting applications from interested and eligible international students who want to study for a Masters degree at the University during the academic year 2023-2024.

This scholarship is provided by the University of Edinburgh to cover the UK tuition cost level for MSc studies. This fellowship is for postgraduate master’s degree studies in English and/or historical linguistics at the School of Philosophy, Psychology, and Language Sciences.

Ailie Donald Scholarship at the University of Edinburgh | DETAILS

All scholarship award holders are expected to be active members of our postgraduate community and to take advantage of chances to present their work to the larger student and staff body over the period covered by their grant.

Applicants who are required to pay international tuition fees must pay the difference between the UK rate and the international tuition fee. These rewards will be valid for one academic year only.

Applicants for the Ailie Donald Scholarship at the University of Edinburgh must meet the following requirements:

  • International students must apply.
  • Applicants must enroll in a Masters program.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time studies program.
  • The scholarships will be given to students who have been accepted for admission to one of the following programs of study at the University of Edinburgh’s School of Philosophy,
  • Psychology, and Language Sciences.
  • Master of Science in English Language.
  • MSc in English Language Research.
  • Linguistics master’s degree.
  • Master of Science in Research Linguistics.
  • Applicants for the MSc by Research programs and University of Edinburgh alumni will be given preference.
  • Candidates must hold or intend to hold a First Class Honours degree at the undergraduate level, or the international equivalent.
  • Apply for the International College Dundee Progression with Excellence Scholarship 2023 as well.

How to Apply

Applicants must have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh in order to have access to the scholarship application system. Please keep in mind that after submitting an application for admission, it may take up to five working days for all system checks to be completed and access given.

The online scholarship application form can be found in EUCLID and accessed through MyEd, our web-based information portal, at https://www.myed.ed.ac.uk.
