The DBSA Learnership Programme 2023, provided by the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), presents a valuable avenue for young individuals to acquire both a qualification and practical work experience. This opportunity is made possible through DBSA’s registered service providers.

The learnership programme is a comprehensive work-based learning initiative that leads to the attainment of an NQF registered qualification. Under this program, 10 learners will be selected and offered a 12-month contract, during which they will receive a competitive stipend throughout the duration of the learnership. The DBSA provides learnership opportunities within its operational sectors, which encompass Energy, ICT, Transport, and Water and Sanitation. Through these learnerships, young individuals are afforded the valuable opportunity to obtain both a qualification and practical work experience. These learnerships are facilitated by registered service providers.

Moreover, each participant in the learnership program is assigned a knowledgeable and experienced mentor from the business sector. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the DBSA Learnership Programme, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Completed university degree in the applicable sector
  • Have an average of 65% average across the years of study
  • Be a South African citizen
  • Under the age of 27 years at the commencement of the contract
  • Project placement will be in Gauteng ONLY
