Erasmus Mundus Scholarships 2024 | Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Erasmus Mundus Scholarships 2024, prospective applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

1. Academic Qualification: Scholarship applicants must possess a first higher education degree or provide evidence of an equivalent level of learning, as per the national regulations and legislation in effect by the application deadline. This means that by January 2024, applicants should have obtained a higher education degree to commence the program in 2024.

2. Exclusion for Previous Recipients: Individuals who have already received an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees (EMJMD) scholarship or were previous recipients of Erasmus Mundus Master/Doctoral Course scholarships are not eligible for additional scholarships under the EMJMD initiative. Students currently benefiting from an EMJMD scholarship cannot receive another EU grant while pursuing their EMJMD studies.

3. Eligible Countries: The list of eligible countries, distinguishing between program country students and partner country students, is provided. The allocation of scholarships will ensure that no more than 25% of the total number of scholarships are awarded to program country students.

4. Subsistence Allowance: Scholarship holders from partner countries are not entitled to receive the monthly subsistence allowance for EMJMD periods exceeding three months (approximately equivalent to 15 ECTS credits) spent in any partner country.

5. Program Country Applicants: Students from partner countries who have spent more than a total of 12 months in the last five years engaged in their main activity (studies, work, etc.) within any of the program countries (EU + Turkey, Macedonia, Norway, Lichtenstein, Iceland) will be considered as program country applicants based on the 12-month rule.

6. Maximum Number of Applications: For each academic year, student candidates can apply to a maximum of three different joint programs supported by the Erasmus Mundus scholarships.

7. Complete Application: All applicants must submit a comprehensive and timely application for it to be considered.

Erasmus Mundus Scholarship 2024 | Application Guide

Application procedures and entry requirement compliance (eligibility) tests are managed by the services of the participating University.

The admission procedure is carried out by the Joint Admission Committee of the EMHRPP, composed by the conveners and administrative coordinator of the participating university on the basis of commonly pre-determined criteria

The ranking is divided into three parts:

  • academic competence (up to 40 points);
  • motivation letter (up to 20 points);
  • work experience and recommendation letters (up to 40 points).

The sum of all three parts can give a maximum of 100 points. Ranking is done taking into account the final score given to each candidate (from the highest to the lowest final score).

Due consideration shall be given to equal opportunity measures capable of promoting the participation of students from disadvantaged groups.
