Humboldt Research Fellowship | Eligibility Criteria

Interested applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the Humboldt Research Fellowship 2023:

  • Applicants for postdoctoral positions must have achieved their PhD or similar academic qualifications within the last four years. Alternatively, you are less than six months away from finishing your doctorate and can already provide a written summary of your findings.
  • Experienced researchers must have earned a doctorate or an equivalent academic certification within the last twelve years. He or she must also have an extensive list of publications in academic journals and by publishing houses that have been reviewed according to international standards.
  • Applicants must be non-German nationals.
  • Applicants may not have lived in Germany for more than 6 months in the 18 months preceding the submission of their application.
  • Applicants must be fluent in either German or English.
