Applications from suitably qualified candidates are currently being accepted for the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS) Batch 35 job recruitment 2023. The Nigerian Navy (NN) is a military branch of the Nigerian Armed Forces. It has one of the largest navies on the African continent, with several thousand personnel, including the Coast Guard.

Qualifications & Application Requirements

Before completing the Nigerian Navy online Recruitment Form, candidates should carefully read the instructions below. Any Form that is incomplete or incorrectly completed will be rejected and will not be processed:

  • Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth.
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 22 by September 30, 2023 for School Certificate holders, and between the ages of 18 and 26 for those with higher qualifications such as Nurses, NCE, OND, drivers, and so on.
  • Applicants are not permitted to be married or have children.
  • Applicants must have no prior criminal convictions from a court of law.
  • Applicants with any of the following medical/physical challenges are not eligible: blindness, deafness, communicable diseases, mental illness, stammering, or any other physical disability. Tattooed applicants are not accepted.
  • Applicants must be 1.69 meters tall for men and 1.65 meters tall for women.
  • Applicants must have one or more of the following educational/professional qualifications:
  1. Certificate for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (not more than 2 sittings and not older than 6 years from the date of application, also applicable to sub paragraphs 2-5).
  2. Ordinary Level of the General Certificate of Education.
  3. National Testing Service (NECO).
  4. Exams in Business and Technology at the National Level (NABTEB).
  5. WAEC City and Guilds or City and Guilds London.
  6. Diploma Ordinary National (OND).
  7. Any other educational qualification that is equivalent to the ones listed above.
  8. Applicants must bring their primary school leaving certificate to the selection interview.
  • All applicants must provide their National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN) (BVN).
  • Applicants with educational/professional qualifications that are higher than those listed in paragraphs 1-7 are not eligible to apply.
  • Applicants are warned that presenting false or forged documents for the Recruitment is a crime.
  • Certificates or qualifications that were not declared, tendered, and accepted during the recruitment process are not acceptable afterward and cannot be tendered for the purpose of changing departments or advancing while already in the Nigerian Navy.
  • Only qualifications obtained in accordance with proper service provisions are accepted while serving in the Nigerian Navy.
  • Applicant’s Declaration Form, Parent/Guardian Consent Form, Local Government Area Certification Form, Police Certification Form, and Guarantors Form must be printed and properly completed, endorsed, and presented during the interview.

Applicants must bring the following documents to the recruitment centers:

  • Photocopies of the birth certificate or the Age Declaration.
    Credential photocopies.
  • The Identification Form must be signed by the Chairman or Secretary of the Applicant’s LGA, or by an officer of the rank of Commander and above (or equivalent in the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Air Force), or by a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) and above from the Applicant’s State of Origin.
    Parent/Guardian Consent Form, duly completed and signed by Applicant’s Parent or Guardian.
  • (c) above signed and stamped four (4) passport photographs on the back.
  • Candidates must bring their WAEC, GCE, NECO, and NABTEB scratch cards to the recruitment centers.
  • The application form must be filled out and submitted online.
  • Any applicant suspected or confirmed of impersonating, falsifying, forging, or presenting false document(s) will be disqualified from the Recruitment process and turned over to the appropriate law enforcement agency for prosecution.
  • In due course, the date for the Recruitment Aptitude Test will be posted on the NN portal.
