The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is looking for motivated and productive postgraduates to participate in its one-year Graduate Development Programme 2024. Graduates will participate in a variety of learning interventions at the SARB Academy throughout the Program.

The SARB promotes South Africans’ economic well-being by ensuring price and financial stability. It is in charge of regulating the South African financial sector, designing and distributing banknotes and coins, managing interest rates, establishing the cash reserve requirement for banks, and ensuring the stability of both the banking sector and the wider financial system.

South African Reserve Bank Graduate Development Programme What to Expect

From January to December 2024, graduates will be assigned to the SARB’s Business Solutions and Technology Department (BSTD). Graduates will attend various learning interventions, including technical training, at the SARB Academy throughout the program. The program includes a Data Science track, and graduates will occasionally work in a Data Lab environment on various use cases.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the South African Reserve Bank Graduate Development Programme, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants must have completed a postgraduate degree.
  • Applicants must have achieved a final-year average of more than 65%.
  • Have a strong desire to work in financial services or government policy.
  • Have a track record of academic achievement.
  • Candidates must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a citizen of South Africa.
  • Be an inquisitive and eager learner.
