This is a higher percentage than the 2.6 percent recorded in 1960. The United States has the world’s largest immigrant population, with approximately 46 million immigrants. Germany has the second-largest population, with 12 million people, followed by Russia, which has 11 million people.

Countries With The Most Immigrants

The International Organization for Migration recently published a list of countries with the highest number of immigrants.

In some countries, immigrants constitute a sizable proportion of the population.

1. The United States – 46,627,102.

When it comes to immigration, the United States is unlike any other country in the world. Except for Native Americans, all Americans have ancestors who came from somewhere other than the United States. The primary source countries for immigration to the United States are Mexico, India, China, and the Philippines. People from nearly every country on the planet are represented in the United States, however. As a result, the country is one of the world’s most multicultural.

2.Germany- 12,005,690.

Germany, after the United States, has the world’s largest immigrant population. Many highly skilled immigrants from all over the world migrate to Germany. The government promotes this in order to account for the country’s slow population growth. The top contributors to German immigration are Turkey (14.9 percent), Poland (8.2%), Syria (6.6 percent), and Italy (6.1 percent).

3. Russia- 11,643,276

With over 100 million people, Russia is the world’s largest country as well as the ninth most populous. 11 million of that population are immigrants. Due to Russia’s low birth rate, immigration is the primary driver of population growth. The vast majority of Russian immigrants come from neighboring countries and former Soviet republics like Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and Moldova. Anyone, however, who can demonstrate proficiency in Russian and has lived in Russia for at least five years, can move there.

4.Saudi Arabia- 10,185,945

More than ten million immigrants live in Saudi Arabia. The majority of people travel to Saudi Arabia to work in the oil industry, with the majority of them coming from India, Syria, Pakistan, and the Philippines.

5. United Kingdom – 8,543,120

Foreign-born people make up more than 8 million of the population in the United Kingdom. Migration, like in many other industrialized countries, accounts for a large portion of population growth in the United Kingdom. The largest groups of immigrants in the United Kingdom are from India, Poland, and Pakistan. The European Union is responsible for a large proportion of immigrants in the United Kingdom.
