Last week, it was blazoned that social subventions distributed by the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) will be increased in the coming time. The date when these increases are set to be blazoned has been revealed.
During the 2024 State of Nation Address( SONA), President Cyril Ramaphosa blazoned that endless social subventions distributed by the South African Social Security Agency( Sassa) will be increased.
The chairman explained that the increase in social subventions forms part of the government’s trouble to alleviate the impact of the rising cost of living in South Africa.
Ramaphosa said, “ We’ll insure that being social subventions are increased to buffer the poor against rising affectation. ”
endless subventions distributed by Sassa include the Aged Persons Grant, Disability entitlement, Child Support entitlement, Foster Care Grant, Grant in Aid, War stagers Grant, and the Care Dependency entitlement.
When Will The Sassa Grant Increases Be Broadcasted
During the SONA address, the chairman said the details of government spending on subventions will be set out in the budget by the Minister of Finance.
Finance Minister Enoch Godongwna will deliver the 2024 National Budget Speech on 22 February 2024.
Ramaphosa also revealed further than 25 million people admit some form of income support. The cost of this social support is original to around 60 of the country’s budget.
The chairman said, “ Around 60 of our budget is spent on what’s known as the social pay envelope, furnishing colorful forms of support, introductory services and backing to homes and individualities to combat poverty and hunger.
Around two million homes presently admit free introductory water, free introductory electricity and free solid waste junking as part of this support.
